IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO LOOK LIKE IT'S COVERED IN VELVET
OR SUEDE, IT'S EASY - FLOCK
IT!
Flock
coating is a process in which velvet-like fibres are electrostatically
applied to another surface.
Flock fibre can be applied to almost any surface or shape;
like wood, cardboard, foam or plastic. It is available
in a variety of colours.
Flock coating is widely used in many industries, some
of which are: - packaging, displays, acoustic and automotive.
In fact, you probably see it everywhere.
It's on jewellery displays, cutlery trays, inside cars,
even on walls of cinemas.
Plastics may be flock coated - prior to moulding - in
sheet or roll form, or after having been moulded into
the desired shape. For examples see: "Flocked Plastic" |
